Rural Georgians work hard, and we deserve good roads, strong schools and reliable internet access. These aren't extras -- they're the foundation of economic opportunity. But decades of underinvestment has left our communities behind, forcing talented young people to leave for places where opportunity exists.<h4>How Did We Get Here?</h4>The numbers tell the story: Eighty-one Georgia counties rank in the bottom national quartile for educational attainment—49th out of 50 states. And rural counties struggle with chronic underinvestment, resulting in underfunded schools, crumbling infrastructure, and limited healthcare access.This creates a vicious cycle. Without good schools, we can't attract businesses. Without businesses, our young people leave. Without young people, our tax base shrinks further. Decades of neglect have real consequences.We're not asking for handouts. We're asking for investment in the communities that feed Georgia, power its ports and serve its visitors.<h4>I Commit to Real Investment Solutions.</h4>Create well-paying jobs by supporting skills training and expanding small business—the backbone of our rural economy.Invest in our infrastructure - roads that don't destroy your car, internet that actually works, schools and training centers that prepare our youth to compete, all the while respecting our beautiful environment, which we must honor and preserve.Support trades and retraining programs so workers can adapt to new opportunities without leaving home.Plan smarter to attract business and workers to our beautiful district while protecting what makes it special.I am committed to bringing investment to our district, including our roads and schools to create jobs and opportunity—that's the leadership you deserve.

Our healthcare system has lost its humanity. Republican policies and corporate profit-first models have priced families out of care—whether coverage comes through an employer or the marketplace. Without action, rural hospitals will close and local economies will suffer.<h4>The Healthcare Crisis: It’s Ugly History.</h4>The recent "Big Beautiful Bill (H.R. 1) should really be called the "Big Billionaire Bill." It's caused two critical problems.First, it's already doubled and tripled healthcare premiums for hundreds of thousands of Georgians. What's worse: when healthy people drop coverage because they can't afford it, everyone's premiums will rise even more.Second, the same bill slashed Medicaid by nearly $1 trillion and—in a particularly cruel move—tied work requirements to the benefits. The result? Between 370,000 to 620,000 Georgians will lose coverage. Our struggling rural hospitals now face closure. Instead of expanding Medicaid, Republicans created "Georgia Pathways" in a smoke and mirrors move, stripping coverage from poor, disabled, and caregiving Georgians who could not meet these standards.<h4>I Commit to driving people-first solutions that prioritize healing, not billing.</h4>First, offer a public option. Georgia can provide basic coverage to anyone who wants it. Without stockholder profits and large CEO salaries to protect, the state can offer lower premiums than private insurers—expanding access while creating competition that holds down costs. I commit to driving this discussion and this vote.Second, expand Medicaid now. Even after federal cuts, expansion will increase healthcare access and help save our rural hospitals. Every delay means more Georgians without care. I commit to driving this discussion and this vote.Finally, we need fundamental change. Moving forward, we must realign massive corporate healthcare profits back to where they belong—with patient care and providers, not stockholders and CEO's. I commit to driving this discussion and those votes.

Our district has suffered from a culture of backroom dealing and weak oversight—narcotics officers breaking the law, cases going unreviewed, and zoning rules shaped behind closed doors by insiders, not neighbors. The result is lost trust, unsafe streets, and development that serves a few, not all.<h4>How did we get here?</h4>For years, an elite drug unit operated with little meaningful oversight, crossing clear ethical and legal lines while local institutions looked away. Tainted officers stayed on the stand, and hundreds of cases that should have been re‑examined never saw the light of day. At the same time, critical decisions about how and where we grow—especially on St. Simons and across our fragile coast—were pushed into “informal” meetings dominated by developers and special interests. Ordinary residents, environmental experts, and working families were shut out until the deal‑making was mostly done. This didn’t happen overnight; it’s the predictable outcome when power is concentrated in a few hands and there are no real consequences for hiding the ball from the public.<h4>I commit to driving change in government structures to bring light to our district.</h4>I am running to hard‑wire transparency and accountability into our laws so this cannot happen again. I will fight for clear, enforceable open‑meetings and open‑records standards for any body that shapes zoning, land use, or public safety—even when they try to call themselves “informal.” I will push for mandatory case review and public reporting whenever officer misconduct taints prosecutions, and for real penalties when officials erase or bury records. I will support independent oversight of local law enforcement task forces and require balanced representation including community members—not just developers—on any planning or zoning workgroups that affect our coast. Most of all, I will put you back in the room where decisions are made.

This is a policy failure, and good policy can fix it. I know how to make policy work—and I'm ready to deliver results.<h4>How Did We Get Here?</h4>Multiple forces created this crisis: rapid population growth, restrictive zoning laws that block new development, soaring construction costs, and years of underbuilding—especially for affordable and middle-income housing.In our coastal district, the shortage hits particularly hard. Glynn County alone needs 9,545 additional housing units. Teachers, nurses, hospitality workers, and service industry employees—the people who keep our tourism economy running—can't afford to live where they work. Young families are being priced out of Brunswick, St. Simons, and Jekyll Island—the very communities their parents called home. Meanwhile, in Long County near Fort Stewart, military families and civilian workers struggle to find affordable housing, and rural McIntosh County lacks the available homes needed to attract teachers, first responders, and essential workers.<h4>I Commit to the Right Housing Solution.</h4>Making homes possible requires policy reforms that increase supply and expand direct assistance. With my background in policy development and community planning, I have the tools to turn these solutions into reality. I commit to driving these discussions and votes:<ul><li>Update zoning codes to allow duplexes, triplexes, and small-scale multifamily buildings in more areas.</li><li>Require local governments to approve quality affordable housing projects within 90 days.</li><li>Lower building costs by reducing or waiving impact fees for new affordable units.</li><li>Promote off-site construction of modular and manufactured homes for installation in our district.</li><li>Expand housing trust funds to provide dedicated, flexible revenue for building and preserving affordable housing.</li><li>Allow Accessory Dwelling Units (ADUs) in single-family neighborhoods—backyard cottages and over-garage apartments regulated for community standards and safety—and promote them through tax abatements for homeowners who rent at below-market rates.</li></ul>
